Rotterdam, Netherlands
Two facts to know about Rotterdam:
1. The city was extremely destroyed at the end of the second world war
2. It is the largest port in Europe, more than twice as much goods pass through Rotterdam than the second largest port in Europe, Antwerp in Belgium.
CUBES
Apartments in tilted cubic form, the kubuswoninge, architectural experience of the 70s by Piet Blom in the center of Rotterdam. It must be admitted that the habitat is not particularly practical and the spaces are reduced. However, all the houses form a pleasant place to live. The city had the intelligence to transform this space into a tourist spot with some houses that can be visited.
HALL
Another interesting concept at Les Halles centrales: the entire arcade is composed of apartments with terraces on the outside and windows on the inside. The interior gallery is a market hall where all the kitchens can be found.
Rotterdam
The modernity of a city that is recreated according to its needs while preserving the historical vestiges spared by the bombings of the allies.
